Dimite has been used as an oil source rock, typically in combination with other sedimentary layers, and is an important geological feature in the study of oil formation. However, the term "dimite" can also cause confusion due to the similarity of its name to "diomite," a type of clay mineral. In addition, dimite can also be confused with dolomite, a type of sedimentary carbonate rock.
