Dikotileilla is a term that refers to plants belonging to the class Magnoliopsida, commonly known as dicotyledons. This is one of the two major groups of flowering plants (angiosperms), the other being the monocotyledons (class Liliopsida). The defining characteristic of dicotyledons is that their seeds typically contain two embryonic leaves, or cotyledons.

Other distinguishing features often, but not always, found in dicots include leaves with a net-like or reticulate venation pattern, and flowers with parts typically in multiples of four or five. The vascular bundles in the stem of a dicot are usually arranged in a ring, which allows for secondary growth (thickening of the stem). This is in contrast to monocots, where vascular bundles are scattered. Examples of common dicotyledonous plants include roses, sunflowers, oaks, beans, and most fruit trees. Historically, dicotyledons were considered a single class, but modern botanical classification, particularly based on molecular data, has led to a re-evaluation and division of this group into several new clades. Despite these taxonomic shifts, the term "dicot" remains widely used in a general sense to describe plants with these characteristic features.
