Digiside is a term occasionally used in discussions of digital asset management to denote the digital aspects that accompany a media object, in contrast to the content itself. In workflows, the digiside supports discovery, rights clearances, reproduction restrictions, and audit trails, enabling automated routing and validation across content supply chains. Examples include a digital photograph with embedded IPTC/XMP metadata and a rights statement; a video file with embedded DRM rules and a version history log; or a music track with licensing terms and distribution rights across platforms.
