Diffrakciójának refers to the phenomenon of diffraction in Hungarian. Diffraction is a wave phenomenon that occurs when a wave encounters an obstacle or an aperture. It describes the bending and spreading of waves as they pass around the edge of an object or through an opening. This effect is most noticeable when the size of the obstacle or aperture is comparable to the wavelength of the wave.

Light waves, sound waves, and water waves all exhibit diffraction. For example, when light passes through a narrow slit, it spreads out on the other side, creating a pattern of bright and dark fringes. This is why you can sometimes hear sounds from around a corner even if you can't see the source. Similarly, water waves will bend and spread as they encounter a breakwater or pass through a narrow channel.

The mathematical description of diffraction involves wave equations and often utilizes concepts like Huygens' principle, which states that every point on a wavefront can be considered a source of secondary spherical wavelets. The interference of these secondary wavelets then determines the overall pattern of the diffracted wave. The extent of diffraction is inversely proportional to the wavelength of the wave and directly proportional to the size of the opening or obstacle. This principle has numerous applications, including in optics, acoustics, and the study of crystal structures using X-ray diffraction.
