Depozitave is a term found in Romanian geology to denote deposits formed by the process of deposition. In English-language geology, the corresponding concepts are typically described as deposits or as depositional deposits, with depositional being the common adjective. The term conveys materials and formations that accumulate when sediments settle from a fluid, or when minerals precipitate from solution.

In geological usage, depozitive deposits encompass a range of sedimentary types. Clastic depozitives include sandstones, shales, and conglomerates formed by the accumulation of fragmented grains. Chemical depozitives arise from mineral precipitation, such as evaporites (halite, gypsum) and carbonate rocks formed by precipitation in marine or lacustrine settings. Organic depozitives comprise accumulations of plant material or carbon-rich matter, like coal and peat. Key characteristics used to describe them include grain size and composition, sedimentary structures (bedding, cross-bedding, ripple marks), color, fossil content, and diagenetic features that alter the original material after deposition.

Depazitive deposits are studied to reconstruct past environments, climate conditions, hydrological regimes, and basin evolution. They also play a crucial role in resource assessment and exploration, informing groundwater potential, hydrocarbon traps, and mineral deposits. In Romanian geological literature, depozitive is commonly encountered as part of discussions on sedimentary sequences and depositional environments. In English, the preferred terminology tends to be depositional deposits or simply deposits, with depositional as the connecting adjective.
