Dazzler, real name Alison Blaire, is a fictional mutant heroine published by Marvel Comics. She can convert sound into light and energy, producing dazzling light displays, photonic blasts, and illusionary effects. In civilian life she works as a pop singer and performer, using her stage persona to blend into human society.

She made her first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #130 (1980); created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. She later starred in her own self-titled series in the 1980s and appeared in various X-Men-related titles.

Powers and abilities: She can absorb ambient sound and convert it into visible light and energy; she can project blasts of light and heat and create dazzling displays that can blind or disorient foes; she can also generate complex holographic light forms.

In-universe, Dazzler has confronted discrimination faced by mutants and has interacted with other superhero teams within the Marvel Universe; her biography includes membership in the X-Men for a period.

In other media: Dazzler has appeared in Marvel animation and was the subject of development for a feature film, but no film has been released.
