Dýchají is a Czech word that translates to "they breathe" in English. It refers to the biological process by which living organisms take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide. This vital function is essential for cellular respiration, the process that provides energy for life.

In humans and most animals, breathing occurs through lungs. Air is inhaled through the nose or mouth, travels down the trachea (windpipe), and into the lungs, where oxygen is absorbed into the bloodstream and carbon dioxide is released to be exhaled. The diaphragm, a large muscle below the lungs, plays a crucial role in this mechanical process by contracting and relaxing to draw air in and push it out.
