Czasopismo is a Polish term for a periodical publication issued on a regular schedule, such as monthly, quarterly, or biweekly. It presents original articles, reports, reviews, essays, and news, and can cover a wide range of topics or focus on a specific field. Czasopisma serve as outlets for scholarly communication, cultural discussion, professional information, and popular journalism.

The term distinguishes periodicals from newspapers (gazeta) which emphasize up-to-date news, and from magazines (magazyn) which are often more commercial or broad in scope. Czasopisma include both scholarly journals (czasopisma naukowe) and non-academic titles aimed at general or professional audiences.

Typical features include a masthead, volume and issue numbering, and an editorial board. Many czasopisma undergo peer review or editorial evaluation for scholarly content; others are edited collections of essays or reports. They are distributed in print and, increasingly, in digital form, and are commonly indexed for bibliographic access and assigned an ISSN.

Types include academic journals (czasopisma naukowe), literary and cultural journals (czasopisma literackie), professional or trade magazines, and general-interest periodicals. Access may be subscription-based or open access, and some titles publish special issues on particular topics.

In Poland and internationally, czasopisma contribute to research dissemination, cultural dialogue, and professional practice. Their archives preserve knowledge and can be consulted via libraries and online databases; indexing services and open access initiatives help ensure discoverability and long-term preservation.
