Cycloalkynes have found applications in organic synthesis, particularly in click chemistry reactions, such as the copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC). Their strained nature can sometimes enhance reaction rates. They are also studied for their unique electronic and structural properties.
