Cyanidiske is an adjective used in Danish and Norwegian to describe matters relating to cyanide or cyanide-containing compounds. The term appears in chemistry, toxicology, mining, and environmental science to designate properties, processes, or materials that involve cyanide.

In chemistry, the cyanide ion CN− is a strong ligand and nucleophile. Hydrogen cyanide HCN is a weak acid that can form salts such as sodium cyanide NaCN and potassium cyanide KCN, both highly toxic and readily soluble in water. Metal cyanides can form coordination complexes with transition metals, and calcium cyanide Ca(CN)2 is used in ore processing. The cyanide family also includes compounds such as cyanates and nitriles, depending on oxidation state and substitution.
