A convectionor is a device designed to facilitate or enhance convection, a mode of heat transfer. Convection involves the movement of heat through a fluid, either liquid or gas, by the bulk motion of the fluid itself. In natural convection, this motion is driven by density differences caused by temperature variations. In forced convection, an external force, such as a fan or pump, is used to induce fluid flow and thus augment heat transfer.

Convectionors can take various forms depending on their application. In heating and cooling systems, convection ovens and radiators are common examples. Convection ovens utilize fans to circulate hot air evenly around food, leading to more uniform cooking and faster preparation times. Radiators, while primarily relying on radiation, also benefit from convective airflow around their surfaces to transfer heat to the surrounding air. In industrial settings, heat exchangers often employ convectionors to efficiently transfer thermal energy between two fluids. This can involve forced convection through tubes or channels to maximize contact and heat exchange. The design of a convectionor typically aims to maximize the surface area exposed to the fluid and to promote turbulent flow, as this generally increases the rate of heat transfer.
