In medicine, coadjuvants are frequently used in vaccines. Vaccine adjuvants, for example, are added to stimulate a stronger and more prolonged immune response to the antigen. In cancer therapy, coadjuvant drugs are often employed to improve the outcomes of primary treatments like surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. For instance, hormone therapy can be considered a coadjuvant to surgery for certain types of breast cancer, aiming to reduce the risk of recurrence by targeting hormone-sensitive cells that may have escaped initial treatment.
