Chymeeksi is a term that refers to the semi-liquid mass of partially digested food that is produced in the stomach and passed into the small intestine. It is formed by the mechanical and chemical breakdown of food. Mechanical digestion begins in the mouth with chewing and continues in the stomach through muscular contractions. Chemical digestion is carried out by enzymes and acids in the stomach. The stomach secretes gastric juices, which contain hydrochloric acid and enzymes like pepsin, to break down proteins.

As the stomach churns and mixes the food with these digestive juices, it transforms into a thick, acidic paste called chyme. The chyme then moves through the pyloric sphincter, a muscular valve at the bottom of the stomach, into the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine. In the small intestine, chyme mixes with bile from the liver and digestive enzymes from the pancreas. These substances further break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats into smaller molecules that can be absorbed into the bloodstream. The process of chyme formation and its passage through the digestive system is crucial for nutrient absorption and waste elimination.
