Chainethiek informs policy debates, corporate strategy, and technology design to promote accountability, fairness, and sustainability across complex networks.

Critiques note that the concept can be vague, difficult to measure, and may risk shifting responsibility. There are concerns about power imbalances and the potential for greenwashing if chains are not genuinely transparent and accountable.
