capense
Capense refers to a group of people or things originating from or related to the Cape, most commonly the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. This term can be used to describe the indigenous Khoikhoi people who inhabited the region before European colonization, or more broadly, any inhabitant of the Cape region. Historically, "Cape Dutch" referred to settlers of Dutch, German, and French Huguenot descent who established colonies at the Cape from the 17th century onwards.
The term can also be used in a botanical context, appearing in the scientific names of plants
