Call to Prayer refers to the Islamic call to worship, known as the Adhan in Arabic. It is traditionally recited aloud by a muezzin from a mosque, five times a day, to summon Muslims to perform their obligatory prayers. The Adhan consists of specific phrases recited in Arabic, beginning with "Allahu Akbar" (God is the greatest). It proclaims the oneness of God and the prophethood of Muhammad. The Adhan serves as a signal that the time for prayer has arrived and is a fundamental practice in Islam, reinforcing the community's connection to their faith. While historically recited from minarets, modern technology has led to the use of loudspeakers in many mosques. The content and pronunciation of the Adhan are standardized across the Muslim world, though slight variations in melodic interpretation may exist. It is considered a sacred utterance and a significant element of Islamic religious life.
