It can also be manufactured through the dehydrogenation of n-butane or n-butenes. Butadiene is a colorless gas at room temperature and pressure, and it is highly flammable. Due to its reactivity, it is usually stored and transported under pressure as a liquefied gas. Its chemical properties make it a versatile monomer for creating a wide range of polymers with diverse properties.
