Bostadsrättsinnehav is a Swedish term referring to the right of occupancy and use of a dwelling that is part of a housing cooperative, known as a bostadsrättsförening. It is not direct ownership of the property itself, but rather ownership of a share in the cooperative that grants the right to live in a specific apartment.
The holder of a bostadsrätt, or bostadsrättsinnehavare, pays a monthly fee, or avgift, to the housing cooperative.
Bostadsrättsinnehav differs from renting in that the resident has a greater degree of control and responsibility.
