bodybones
Bodybones refers to the skeletal structure of an organism. This internal framework provides support, allows for movement through articulation with muscles, and protects vital organs. In humans and other vertebrates, the skeleton is composed of bone tissue, a rigid connective tissue that is constantly being remodeled. The typical adult human skeleton consists of 206 bones, which are categorized into the axial skeleton (skull, vertebral column, rib cage) and the appendicular skeleton (limbs and girdles). Bones are formed through a process called ossification, where specialized cells called osteoblasts lay down new bone tissue. Bone health is influenced by factors such as diet, exercise, and genetics, and deficiencies or diseases can lead to conditions like osteoporosis or fractures. The study of bones is known as osteology.
