Boardspinning is a maneuver in skateboarding that involves rotating the skateboard 360 degrees or more along its longitudinal axis while the rider remains on the board. This is distinct from a flip trick where the board rotates along its width or length, and from a spin where the rider and board rotate together. In boardspinning, the rider's feet typically stay planted on the board, though the exact foot placement and technique can vary.

The execution of a boardspin generally involves a slight ollie or pop to get the board into the air. While the board is airborne, the rider uses their front or back foot, depending on their stance and the direction of the spin, to flick or push the edge of the board, causing it to spin horizontally. The rider then catches the board as it completes the rotation and lands back on it.

Boardspinning can be performed in various contexts, often as a transition between other tricks or as a standalone maneuver. It can be done while rolling, jumping down stairs, or even during grinds and slides, adding a technical element to the trick. While not as common as basic flip tricks, boardspinning is recognized as a legitimate skateboarding discipline and is featured in many skate videos and competitions. Mastery requires good board control and a precise sense of timing and balance.
