Bevægelsestilstand refers to the state of an object or system concerning its motion. It describes whether an object is at rest, moving at a constant velocity, or accelerating. This concept is fundamental in physics, particularly in classical mechanics, where it is often analyzed using Newton's laws of motion.

An object is considered to be in a state of rest if its position remains unchanged over time relative to a given frame of reference. Conversely, if its position changes, it is in motion. Motion can be described by its velocity, which is a vector quantity indicating both speed and direction. If the velocity of an object remains constant, its bevægelsestilstand is uniform motion.
