Baseband processing refers to the manipulation and analysis of signals in their baseband form, which is the original signal before modulation. This process is fundamental in various fields, including telecommunications, signal processing, and digital communications. Baseband processing involves several key steps, including signal acquisition, filtering, sampling, and digital conversion.

Signal acquisition involves capturing the analog signal from its source. This signal is then filtered to remove unwanted noise and interference, ensuring that the desired signal is preserved. The filtered signal is subsequently sampled at a rate determined by the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem, which states that the sampling rate must be at least twice the highest frequency present in the signal to avoid aliasing.
