Azeotropt is a term that appears in some scientific and technical texts to refer to azeotropic behavior or properties, but it is not a standard English term in the core chemical literature. When used, it typically indicates characteristics of mixtures that form azeotropes, or describes systems that behave like azeotropes under certain conditions.

Azeotropes are mixtures whose liquid and vapor compositions are the same at a given pressure, leading to a constant boiling point and making simple distillation ineffective for achieving complete separation of components. Techniques to break or circumvent azeotropes include adding entrainers to create azeotropic or extractive distillation, performing distillation at different pressures (pressure-swing distillation), or employing alternative methods such as membrane separation or reactive/distillation approaches.
