An astrosphere is the cavity in the interstellar medium (ISM) created by the stellar wind of a star. It is essentially a bubble of hot, low-density gas that surrounds a star and extends outwards, pushing back the surrounding cooler, denser ISM. The shape and size of an astrosphere are determined by the balance between the outward pressure of the stellar wind and the inward pressure of the ISM.
