Asmenimis is a Lithuanian grammatical form that appears in two related ways: it is the dative plural and the instrumental plural of the noun asmuo, which means “person” or “individual.” The same word form can function as both cases depending on the syntactic role in a sentence, which can sometimes lead to ambiguity without context.

As a dative plural, asmenims signals the recipient or target of an action and is used when describing to whom something applies or is directed. For example, Šis reglamentas taikomas visiems asmenims means “This regulation applies to all individuals.” As a plural instrumental, asmenimis denotes agency, means, or involvement, often in phrases describing collaboration or interaction. For instance, Projektas buvo įgyvendintas bendradarbiaujant su asmenimis means “The project was implemented in collaboration with individuals.”

In general usage, asmenimis tends to appear in formal or administrative language, particularly in policy, legal, or organizational texts. Its meaning is determined by context: when used with verbs that take a dative object, it conveys “to/for the individuals,” whereas with verbs and constructions that express means or accompaniment, it conveys “with/by the individuals.”
