Artikulative is an adjective referring to articulation, particularly in the field of linguistics and phonetics. In this sense, it denotes aspects related to how speech sounds are produced by the movement and configuration of the vocal tract, including the lips, tongue, teeth, palate, velum, and glottis.

While the standard English terms are articulatory or articulative, artikulative appears in some languages or in translations of linguistic texts as a direct cognate or loanword. In such contexts it is used interchangeably with articulatory to describe features such as place and manner of articulation, voicing, aspiration, nasalization, and the coordination of adjacent sounds (coarticulation).

Artikulative phonetics is typically studied with acoustic and articulatory data, using methods from experimental phonetics such as ultrasound tongue imaging, magnetic resonance imaging, palatography, electromagnetic articulography, and electroglottography, as well as acoustic analysis of speech signals. The aim is to understand how different articulatory configurations produce distinct speech sounds and how articulation varies across speakers, languages, and contexts.
