Artikulasjonsorganer, also known as speech organs, are the parts of the body used to produce speech sounds. These organs work together to shape the flow of air from the lungs into recognizable sounds. The primary artikulasjonsorganer include the lungs, larynx, pharynx, oral cavity, and nasal cavity.

The lungs provide the airflow necessary for speech. This air is pushed out from the lungs through the trachea towards the larynx. The larynx, commonly known as the voice box, contains the vocal cords. When air passes through the vocal cords, they can vibrate to produce voiced sounds, or remain open for voiceless sounds. The degree of vibration determines the pitch of the voice.

The pharynx, the part of the throat behind the mouth and nasal cavity, acts as a resonating chamber, amplifying and modifying the sound produced in the larynx. The oral cavity, or mouth, is a highly flexible area containing the tongue, lips, teeth, and alveolar ridge. The tongue is a crucial artikulasjonsorgan, able to move into various positions to articulate different sounds. The lips can be rounded, spread, or brought together. Teeth and the alveolar ridge, the bony ridge behind the upper teeth, are important for producing sounds like 't' and 'd'.

The nasal cavity, or nose, also contributes to resonance and can be used to produce nasal sounds, such as 'm' and 'n', when the soft palate is lowered, allowing air to pass through the nose. The coordination and precise movements of all these artikulasjonsorganer are essential for the production of the diverse range of sounds found in human language.
