arsyeshëm

Arsyeshëm is an Albanian adjective meaning “reasonable, sensible, rational” or “well-justified.” It describes a person who exercises good judgment or a proposition, action, or decision that is justified by evidence or logic. The term can apply to both people and things and is common in formal and everyday speech.

Etimologjia: the word derives from the noun arsye, meaning reason, together with the suffix -shëm that forms adjectives indicating a quality. Thus arsyeshëm literally conveys “having reason.”

Përdorimi: it is used with nouns to indicate justification, as in the phrases “Vendimi është arsyeshëm” (The decision is reasonable) or “Është arsyeshëm të fillosh nga ky plan” (It is reasonable to start from this plan). The expression “është arsyeshëm që…” introduces clauses, e.g., “Është arsyeshëm që të nisësh tani” (It is reasonable that you start now). In gender agreement, masculine singular is arsyeshëm (një person arsyeshëm) and feminine singular is arsyeshme (një grua arsyeshme).

Në lidhje me përkufizimet dhe nuancat, arsyeshëm nënkupton një lloj drejtësimi që vërtetohet me argument ose prova, dhe shpesh lidhet me fakte dhe logjikë. Ai dallon nga termat më të përgjithshëm si mirë, i pëlqyeshëm, ose i famshëm, pasi siç thotë, ai përshkruan një standard të tëraçit të arsyes dhe të drejtimit të veprimeve.
