aritmieregistratie
Aritmieregistratie refers to the process of recording and monitoring heart rhythm abnormalities, also known as arrhythmias. This is typically done using electrocardiograms (ECG or EKG). A standard ECG provides a snapshot of the heart's electrical activity over a short period, usually a few seconds. For longer-term monitoring, ambulatory ECG devices are employed. These include Holter monitors, which record continuously for 24 to 48 hours, or event recorders, which patients can activate when they experience symptoms. More advanced devices like implantable loop recorders can monitor for months or even years.
The primary goal of aritmieregistratie is to detect, characterize, and evaluate the significance of irregular heartbeats.
