Antynominy is a term that is sometimes used as a variant spelling of antinomy, a concept in philosophy and related fields. In general, an antinomy is a real or apparent contradiction that arises when two principles or propositions appear to be equally valid under the same framework of reasoning.

In philosophical contexts, antinomies reveal the limits or tensions within a system of thought. They occur when applying universal or fundamental premises to totalities—such as space, time, or causality—yields incompatible conclusions. The most famous example is Kant's Antinomies of Pure Reason, a set of four pairs of theses and antitheses that Kant argued could not be resolved within the framework of pure reason alone.

Antinomies also appear in legal and ethical contexts, where different statutes, principles, or duties may pull in opposite directions. In such cases, interpretation, priority rules, or revision of the framework are often required to resolve the conflict.

The term derives from Greek roots anti- meaning "against" and nomos meaning "law" or "system," reflecting the sense of opposing rules or principles. While antinomies are a well-established topic in philosophy, antynominy as a spelling variant is comparatively rare in modern usage, and many writers simply use "antinomy."
