Analogitulolähtömoduulit, often shortened to AI/AO modules or analog I/O modules, are fundamental components in industrial automation and process control systems. These modules are crucial for precise monitoring and control. For example, a temperature sensor might output a 4-20mA current signal representing a specific temperature range. An analog input module would receive this current, digitize it, and provide the temperature value to the PLC. Similarly, if the PLC needs to adjust a pump's speed based on a calculated value, it would send a digital signal to an analog output module, which would then generate a corresponding voltage or current signal to control the pump's motor drive. The resolution and accuracy of these modules are key specifications, determining the fineness of control and the precision of measurements achievable within the system. They are available in various configurations, supporting different signal types (voltage, current), ranges, and channel counts to suit diverse application requirements.
