amerykaski

Amerykaski is an adjective form found in Polish that is considered nonstandard or historical; it means “American” or “related to America or the United States.” It is formed from Ameryka (America) plus the suffix -ski. In modern standard Polish the expected forms are amerykański (masculine), amerykańska (feminine), and amerykańskie (neuter). Amerykaski occurs chiefly in older texts, in dialectal writings, or as a phonetic spelling in places where orthography was less standardized. In contemporary usage, references to American styles, objects, or features are typically written with amerykański rather than amerykaski (for example, amerykański styl, amerykańska kuchnia).

The term should not be confused with the nouns Amerykanin (a male American) and Amerykanka (a female
