Altain refers to a broad, arid or semi-arid plateau located in East Asia, primarily within Mongolia and extending into parts of China and Russia. It is one of the largest highland deserts in the world. The Altain landscape is characterized by vast, open steppes, rocky plains, and scattered mountain ranges, with elevations typically ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 meters above sea level.
