Alkionsoluilla is a Finnish term commonly used to refer to embryonic cells—the cells that compose an embryo at early stages of development. In English-language literature the closest equivalents are embryonic cells or embryonic stem cells.

During early development, the zygote divides to form blastomeres that are totipotent, capable of forming all embryonic and extraembryonic tissues.
