alfasynúklein

The term alfasynúklein refers to alpha-synuclein, a protein primarily found in the brain. It is thought to play a role in synaptic function and neurotransmitter regulation. Under normal circumstances, alpha-synuclein is soluble and can adopt various conformations. However, under certain conditions, it can misfold and aggregate into insoluble fibrils.
