Alaüürimine is a Finnish term that can be translated as "under-renting" or "subletting." It refers to the practice of a tenant renting out all or part of their rented property to another person. This is typically done with the permission of the original landlord, but can also occur without it.

In Finland, the legality and conditions of alaüürimine are governed by the Residential Lease Act. Generally, a tenant has the right to sublet their apartment if they have a valid reason for doing so, such as a temporary absence or a need to share living expenses.
