akceptovat

Akceptovat is a Czech verb meaning to accept, approve, or acknowledge something; to agree to a proposal or terms; or to recognize the validity of a fact or situation. In finance and law, the verb also denotes the act of a bank or drawee accepting a bill of exchange or another financial instrument. The word is a loanword from Latin acceptare, entering Czech through the broader European lexical sphere, often via German akzeptieren or similar routes. In everyday language, akceptovat is more formal or technical, while přijmout is frequently used in ordinary speech.
