Ainesvaldkondade, or “fields of matter,” refer to the principal categories in which chemical substances are classified based on their composition, properties, and behavior. The concept is widely used in chemistry education, research, and industrial applications to organize the vast diversity of materials into manageable subdomains.

In the traditional taxonomy, ainesvaldkondade are divided into several main groups. Inorgaanilised ainevaldkonnad include metals, nonmetals, metalloids, and various inorganic salts and oxides.
