Agroforestrit is a term that appears in some languages as a variation of agroforestry. The concept describes the intentional integration of trees with agricultural crops and/or livestock on the same land to achieve ecological and economic benefits. In practice, agroforestrit refers to systems where trees and agriculture are managed together rather than separately.

At its core, agroforestry designs and manages land-use systems in which trees interact with crops and/or livestock. Trees provide products such as timber, fruit, fodder, and fuel, as well as services like shade, wind protection, soil stabilization, and enhanced nutrient cycling. Crops and animals benefit from microclimate regulation, biodiversity, and extended resource use.

Common forms include silvopasture (trees with pasture and grazing), alley cropping (rows of trees with crops between), forest farming (understorey crops beneath a managed canopy), windbreaks or shelterbelts, and riparian buffers along waterways.

Benefits reported in many contexts include improved soil health and water quality, greater carbon sequestration, reduced erosion, more resilient yields, and diversified farm income. Agroforestry can also support biodiversity and provide habitat for beneficial species.

Adoption considerations include higher upfront costs and longer time horizons before returns, need for technical knowledge and long-term planning, potential competition for light or water, and policy or market barriers. Successful implementation typically requires site assessment, local adaptation, access to extension services, and supportive incentives.
