Adto is a word found in Cebuano and other Visayan languages, where it principally expresses motion toward a place. It can function as an adverb meaning “to there” or as a verb meaning “to go.” In everyday speech, adto is used to indicate destination and contrasts with ari, usually translated as “here.”

In Cebuano, adto combines with verbs of motion to specify direction: Adto ko didto means “I am going there.” Adto ta, meaning “let us go,” is used to invite movement.
