Adaptoids are a fictional type of artificial humanoid found in the Marvel Comics universe. They are primarily known as creations of the Super-Adaptoid, a sentient machine capable of absorbing and replicating the powers and abilities of any being it encounters. The Adaptoids themselves are typically depicted as subservient robotic drones or soldiers that can mimic the powers of superheroes they are programmed to fight. Their design often features a metallic, segmented appearance.

The Super-Adaptoid first appeared in Tales of Suspense #79 (August 1966) and was created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. The individual Adaptoids, as lesser constructs of the Super-Adaptoid, have appeared in various comic book storylines, often serving as obstacles for Marvel's heroes. Their primary function is to serve the will of their creator, acting as expendable units in its schemes.

Adaptoids possess the ability to temporarily replicate the superpowers of those they are designed to imitate. This means an Adaptoid might possess super strength, flight, energy projection, or other abilities depending on the hero it is meant to counter. However, these replicated powers are often not as potent or as versatile as those of the original hero. Their robotic nature also makes them susceptible to technological countermeasures or brute force, though their adaptive capabilities can sometimes surprise opponents.
