Zhuoshui
Zhuoshui is a prominent geographic feature in Taiwan, primarily known as a river. The Zhuoshui River, Taiwan's longest river, flows through the central part of the island before emptying into the Taiwan Strait. Its basin is a significant agricultural area, especially for rice cultivation, due to the fertile alluvial plains it has formed over millennia. The river's name, Zhuoshui, translates to "muddy water," a fitting description given its often sediment-laden flow, particularly after heavy rainfall.
The river's course is crucial for water supply and irrigation for many communities and industries located in
