Zavarovanec

Zavarovanec is a Slovenian term that translates to "insured person" or "policyholder" in English. It refers to the individual or entity covered by an insurance policy. This person or entity has entered into a contract with an insurance company, known as the zavarovalnica, in exchange for financial protection against specific risks. The zavarovanec pays premiums to the zavarovalnica, and in return, the insurer agrees to compensate the zavarovanec for losses or damages incurred due to the insured event.

The rights and obligations of the zavarovanec are defined by the terms and conditions of the insurance contract, often referred to as the zavarovalna polica. These typically include the duty to provide accurate information about the risk being insured, to pay premiums on time, and to report any insured incidents promptly. In case of an insured event, the zavarovanec has the right to claim compensation from the zavarovalnica according to the policy's provisions.
