Yunco

Yunco is a fictional city and administrative center in the eastern river valley of the country of Lyria. It serves as the capital of Yunco District and a regional economic hub. As of 2023, Yunco’s population is estimated at about 110,000, and the city covers roughly 78 square kilometers.

Historically, Yunco was founded in the 9th century by the Yunco clans and grew as a trading post along the Sore River. In the modern era it adopted a mayor-council form of government and functions as the seat of the Yunco District within Lyria’s provincial structure.

The economy blends manufacturing, logistics, and agriculture. Textiles and food processing are major industries, supported by a regional port and inland terminals. The city has invested in education and research, including a technical university and several industrial parks.

Culturally, Yunco features mid-century civic architecture, bustling markets, and seasonal festivals such as the Festival of Lanterns. Public institutions—the Yunco University and the Museum of Regional History—offer programs in science, engineering, humanities, and the arts, and host rotating exhibitions.

Transportation links include a regional airport, a network of highways, and planned light rail connections to neighboring towns, reflecting Yunco’s role as a logistics hub in the valley.
