For example, in the European Union, the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive and specific guidance on environmental claims help to regulate this area. Certifications and eco-labels, such as the EU Ecolabel or Nordic Swan, provide third-party verification of environmental performance, offering consumers a more reliable way to identify genuinely sustainable products. Consumers are encouraged to critically evaluate environmental claims and look for credible certifications.
