Yksittäispisteet, meaning "individual points" in Finnish, refers to the scoring system used in some competitive activities, particularly in sports like darts and snooker. Unlike match play where the overall winner is determined by who wins a set number of games or frames, yksittäispisteet focuses on the accumulated score of individual elements within a round or a single game.

In darts, for instance, while a player must win a certain number of legs to win a set, and a certain number of sets to win a match, the individual points scored on each dart thrown contribute to the leg score. A player might win a leg with a score of 3-1, but the total number of points scored by each player throughout that leg is also tracked. This concept is most clearly seen in games where a specific target score must be reached, such as a "best of" format where the player who first reaches a predetermined number of points wins.

Similarly, in snooker, while frames are won by scoring more points within a single game, the concept of individual scoring is fundamental. The points awarded for potting different colored balls, and the deductions for fouls, all contribute to the frame's score.
