Yksikolme

Yksikolme is a Finnish word that translates to "one-three" in English. It is a term used in the context of ice hockey, specifically referring to a power play situation where one team has a numerical advantage due to the opposing team having three players serving penalties simultaneously. This situation arises when a team commits multiple penalties in quick succession, resulting in three of their players being sent to the penalty box at the same time.

During a yksikolme, the team with the advantage has five skaters on the ice against the penalized team's three, creating a significant numerical advantage.
