Yacyretá
Yacyretá is a large hydroelectric power plant located on the Paraná River, straddling the border between Argentina and Paraguay. Its construction began in 1983 and the first generator was commissioned in 1994. The dam is a significant source of electricity for both countries. The name Yacyretá comes from the Guaraní language and translates to "the sound of the moon".
