Wuling is a Chinese automobile marque used by the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture. The brand focuses on affordable, compact vehicles, including microvans and MPVs, for the Chinese market and selected export markets. The Wuling brand operates mainly through SGMW, a three-way collaboration between SAIC Motor, General Motors, and Liuzhou Wuling Motors.

History: Wuling originated in 1986 as Liuzhou Wuling Automobile Factory in Liuzhou, Guangxi. In 2002, it joined with SAIC and GM to form SGMW, creating a platform for mass-market, low-cost vehicles. The brand expanded production in China and pursued international markets through SGMW's overseas networks.

Products and notable models: Wuling is best known for its economical microvans and MPVs. The Hongguang family, including the Hongguang MPV, has been a staple in Chinese city transportation and small-business fleets. In 2020, Wuling introduced the Hongguang Mini EV, an ultra-cheap electric vehicle that drew global attention for low cost and urban practicality.

Global presence: Beyond China, SGMW has built an international footprint through Wuling Motors, including markets in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, where the brand markets affordable MPVs and SUVs through local operations.
