Wojnicz

Wojnicz is a town located in the southern part of Poland, within the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. It is situated in the Myślenice County, approximately 30 kilometers northeast of Kraków, the regional capital. The town lies along the Skawa River, which flows through its center, contributing to its scenic landscape.

Historically, Wojnicz has been an important administrative and economic center since the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in written records in 1326, when it was granted town rights by King Władysław I the Elbow-high. The town developed as a trading hub, benefiting from its strategic location along trade routes connecting Kraków with other regions of Poland. During the Partitions of Poland in the late 18th century, Wojnicz became part of the Austrian Empire, later joining the Austrian Galicia province.
